    I’m going to a 4th of July Parade with bands from a bunch of high schools and then I’m going to watch fireworks probably from a close neighborhood and spend time with my family!

    Much like I did over Memorial Day, I will include some lesson for my young son about the significance of the holiday.

    That is to say, Independence Day is NOT about shopping, cook-outs, special sales or getting drunk.

    Of course, we’ll do our family picnic in the park and watch fireworks…but I would like my son to understand that the day has special significance.

    I have to work, because I started a new job, but we’ll probably have some fireworks and barbeque the day after or before, We should also reflect on what our freedom means to us, that we have the rights we have in this country and many have given thier lives for it, we should say a special prayer for all those who serve.
