I am wanting to go to New York City for the Fourth of July. Can anyone give me any information on this?

I have searched the web for schedules and so forth but can’t find anything. I will have children with me so I need something accommodating.

fire works are along the east river around 34th st and by the south st seaport. people gather from the afternoon and it starts starts around 8:30 ish. It gets very crowded so be careful with the kids. I’m one of the lucky ones with an office along the river

The fireworks vary in location from year to year. Recently, they’ve been having them over the East River but you can also view them from other areas in the city that are close by (i.e. the south street seaport) or high up above. :)

I’ve never been, but I hear the Prominade in Brooklyn (near the Brooklyn Bridge) is one of the best spots to see the fireworks and it’s less crowded than the other side of the river.
It might be a good day to do the whole Brooklyn thing, go out to Coney Island, see the Brooklyn Cyclones, the single A affiliate of the New York Mets. Go to Juniors in Downtown Brooklyn for an early dinner.
